![]() ![]() ![]() I am running PL5 under WINDOWS 11 It's running ok no crash, but adobe and screen profiles are not working correctly. I posted initial findings elsewhere in another thread:-įor clarity are you saying that your PL5 on a PC behaves differently to what I have observed or are you confirming that a Mac still only shows the Deep Prime effect in the preview window? Built for utmost quality and utility, DxO PhotoLab is the multi-award winning RAW editing and workflow software for exacting photographers. True, but there's so little of interest to me in PL5 that I'm in no hurry to get it, if at all. DxO PhotoLab 6 ELITE edition is your complete, end-to-end, RAW photo editing software. Now, granted if they offer the 50% off on Black Friday I could have got it for just over £17 less than I just paid! Using the code just for PL gives about 11% discount off of my upgrade price. May be one time use, YMMV.įWIW I noticed in the top left hand corner of the webpage there is a "get my code" and that brings up the box to get the code. This provided an additional 20% off my upgrades, Photolab and FilmPack together. "Still thinking about Photolab or FilmPack"? For example, because I didn't update from 1 to 3, when 4 came out I was no longer considered to be a 'current customer'.Īs I said, these are only my opinions, others may disagree with me.I own DXO Photolab, FilmPack, and Viewpoint.Īfter I logged into the DXO website, went to the UPGRADE page for the products I own, then let my browser sit inactive for about 20 minutes, a window came up that said the following: DxO only give an, extra, 'current customer' discount on top of any other offers if you are updating from no more than two versions back. I bought the first Nik Collection (because, for reasons too complicated to explain here, I got it very cheap) but I've never updated as I've always felt the update price, even on Black Friday, was not cost effective for me. If you wait until Black Friday before you buy then not only are you likely to get the best price, they are likely to have released at least one, maybe two patches by then so the product might feel less like a beta version. Even so, expect to pay over £130 because the price includes a 'free' copy of DxO Photolab Essential version. ![]() If DxO follow the same pattern for V6 of the collection as they've followed for their previous versions then V6 will be out next summer and the price at launch will be discounted. The current version is Nik Collection 5 and still not all of the apps in the collection have been updated. ![]() Unlike other software manufacturers, DxO tests every camera and lens combination individually in its purpose-built lab, giving you profiles that are tailor-made for your equipment. Nik Collection 4 was a particularly low point, it was not well received, it was barely a beta product. DxO’s renowned Optics Modules have set the standard for camera and lens corrections since 2003. However only some of the individual apps in the collection have been updated each time. Since then they have released a 'new' version of the collection, every year around July. Except they didn't fix one glaring bug in Viveza. Their first release was no more than a few bug fixes, to do with 64 bit compatibility. What follows is my opinion, you must do your own research. It's probably better to say that it is 'mixed'. To be honest I don't know anything about this collection since it was acquired by DxO. ![]()
